implementare una ExpandableListView

ciao ragazzi.
sto cercando di implementare una ExpandableListView per fare il menu delle opzioni di una activity che usa la camera.
ho creato la classe "ExpandableList1 extends ExpandableListActivity", usando l'esempio delle risorse dell sdk.
nel layout dell'activity della camera ho inserito il widget ExpandableListView, ma non riesco a farlo funzionare.
come si associa alla classe ExpandableList1  creata?
